Dentist in Gainesville wearing protective gear Dental offices are some of the cleanest places you can go to. They are held to strict sanitation standards to ensure complete safety for each and every one of their patients. Now, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are rightly concerned about the health of themselves and their families. Dental offices are adhering to even higher standards now to keep their patients completely protected. Learn more about dental safety precautions from your dentist in Gainesville.

COVID-19 Precautions

Even on a normal day, dental teams adhere to guidelines set by the CDC to maintain your safety. They wash their hands before and each patient interaction, making sure to wear sterile gloves during each facet of your treatment. They wear masks to prevent the spread of airborne germs and sterilize their tools and operatory surfaces after every single use.

Now that the country is in the middle of the pandemic, offices are taking their safety standard to the next level. Many practices are incorporating things like:

  • Advanced Team Safety: Dental teams are receiving special training in virus prevention and awareness. Offices are screening their team members daily to ensure that they are capable of providing the safest care for their patients. In addition to the CDC cleaning requirements, they are also doing nightly deep cleans of the entire practice to provide a completely sterile environment for the next day.
  • Additional Safety Gear: All dental team members are wearing protective gear such as N95 and ASTM Level 3 masks. During procedures, clinical teams are using face shields in addition to masks for extra protection.
  • Creating Even Safer Visits: Offices are allowing for virtual waiting rooms so that you can check-in from your car and avoid the waiting room. They are scheduling fewer patients and longer visits to limit the number of people you come into contact with while giving you the most dentistry possible. Patients are pre-screened before their appointments to ensure everyone’s safety.

These are just a handful of the many, many protections that dental practices are taking during the pandemic. Reach out to your dentist for a full list of the safety steps they’re taking.
